the Napoleon House on a brilliant New Orleans afternoon and listening to the
buggy drivers stop and give their erzatz history spiel to the tourists about
Maspero’s Slave Exchange across the street, one can so easily be taken in by
the charm of it that you can forget the reality of the history. |
